NEWRIDE

For this GROUP project our brief asked us how to create a “sticky campus” at the University of Newcastle Australia, also known as the iCampus brief. After many design thinking exercises including: research (case studies), personas, visual mapping, journey mapping, interviewing and ethnography, the “NewRide” idea was created.

NewRide is an app for the staff and students when travelling to any of the Newcastle University campuses. Addressing the problem by removing car related expenses (i.e. fuel, parking, etc.) and there is more of a purpose to stay on campus between classes.

Creating an initial style guide allowed us to then go into XD and begin designing the app, off our low fidelity wireframe, with consistency and quality. Using the Newcastle Universities colour theme allowed the app to sync with the campuses.
